You Learned the Trade. Now Build a Career.
Finishing HVAC school is a big accomplishment. But there’s a difference between learning how HVAC systems work in the classroom and becoming the technician homeowners and businesses trust when something isn’t working.
That’s where the next part of your training begins.
Advanced Heating & Cooling in Lincoln, Illinois is growing, and we’re looking for an entry-level HVAC technician who’s ready to work hard, keep learning, and build a career in the trades.
We’re Hiring an HVAC Technician
If you’ve recently completed an HVAC/R program such as Midwest Technical Institute in Springfield, we’d like to talk to you.
You don’t need years of field experience. We’re looking for someone who has a solid foundation and wants to keep building on it through real-world experience.
A strong candidate will have training in areas such as:
- Heating and air conditioning systems
- Basic electrical diagnosis and troubleshooting
- Gas and electric heat
- Heat pumps
- Refrigeration fundamentals
- Refrigerant recovery, evacuation and charging
- EPA Section 608 certification
- Safe use of HVAC tools and test equipment
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who’s dependable, teachable, comfortable working with customers, and willing to learn.
School Gives You the Foundation. Experience Builds the Technician.
There’s a lot you can learn in an HVAC lab. There’s even more to learn when you’re standing in a customer’s basement diagnosing a furnace that quit on the coldest day of the year.
At Advanced Heating & Cooling, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced technicians while gaining hands-on experience with real equipment in real homes and businesses throughout Central Illinois.
You’ll learn how to diagnose problems, make repairs, install equipment, communicate with customers, and develop the judgment that only comes from working in the field.
We’re not expecting you to know everything on your first day. We are expecting you to want to learn.
More Than Residential HVAC
Our work goes beyond furnaces and air conditioners.
Depending on the job, you’ll have opportunities to gain experience with residential heating and cooling, light commercial HVAC, refrigeration, mini-split systems, commercial refrigerators and freezers, ice machines, and standby generators.
That means you’re not just looking for your first HVAC job.
You’re building a skill set you can carry with you for the rest of your career.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who takes pride in showing up, solving problems, treating customers well, and doing the job correctly.
Experience is valuable, but character matters too.
If you’re the kind of person who asks questions, wants to understand why something works, isn’t afraid to get your hands dirty, and wants to become better at your trade, you may be a great fit here.
Ready to Start Your HVAC Career?
You already took the first step by learning the trade.
Now it’s time to put those skills to work.
